Sam in the Pit

At the end of his act, Sam jumped into the pit at the front of the
stage. I'm surprised I was able to get this shot because I had 30,000
screaming teenagers mashing me into the retaining fence that separated
us from the stage.

Sam Roberts headlined, spit out most of his recorded tracks in a very
capable, if not tenative show. Amanda thinks the big crowds make him
nervous. Considering that he was nervous enough at the Downsview Stones'
concert in August to chip his tooth on a microphone while singing, I
think I'd agree.

Colin James rocked the place quite handily. Too bad he wasn't headlining
because I would have enjoyed hearing more than the alloted hour allowed
him to do.

Fefe != Avril. She hated being compared to Avril during a post show
interview they played over the loudspeakers. I saw her the next week at
Edgefest where she kind of sucked all over again.

These guys are way better live than their radio play lets on. I picked
up their disk after the show and even though the songwriting shone
through, the disc was horribly overproduced.
