The ying and the yang, the good and the bad...
Last week I mentioned that I had suffered the misfortune of being saddled with a dead Treo. Not sure what happened to it, but it just wouldn't take a charge. No way, no how. So I crossed my fingers, took a deep breath and contacted Handspring tech support. Not only was I able to RMA it online, but they gave me the option to pay $25 USD to have a new one shipped to me before I returned the malfunctioning one. Placing my faith in the system and the power of VISA, I plonked down my dough, filled out an online form and waited. Until Friday morning when my brand new Treo 90 showed up in the mail. Nice. They also included instructions, shipping information and a pre-paid carton to return the old unit for repair. I shipped the unit back that same day...hopefully they find a good use for it - I get to keep the new one! Great deal folks - I am definitely a happy camper. On the downside, my wallet went missing sometime over the weekend - stolen, lost - don't know. I do know that I will *never* go through this again. I'm going to buy one of those wallets that attaches to my belt via a titanium link chain - or something... On the upside, I was able to scrounge together a few hours this afternoon to hit the bank and the MTO to get my new bank card and replacement drivers license. I'll worry about everything else when I get a few minutes. I've got the bare essentials, I just hope I don't need my health card anytime soon... C | T (34) | #

This is an experimental blog - things are gonna break, things are gonna move around, things will generally end up being A-OK. I'm seriously messing with my GoogleJuice, but the end justifies the meantime. Don't try and chase down broken links to my Radio or MT archives, they are currently gone but will be back in a few days. Also, don't worry about the odd broken internal link here and there, they will also be fixed in a few days.
Such is the price of redress. C | T (28) | #

We're moving all the content here to its permanent home.
This will break all inbound links to the development site that I've been using for the past few months. Apologies in advance. We're working on something to fix this, but it won't be ready right away. C | T (5) | #

On this day last year I noted that Marty Schwimmer and Snapnames predicated a drop in the number of healthy registrars and that Infoworld was predicting that "Cars will drive Bluetooth adoption"
Such as it is with predictions, it is hard to figure out who's was right and who was wrong here. I'd say that they both missed the mark, but its tough to "prove": most registrars are private (and therefore data is hard to come by). On the other hand, I haven't any evidence that anyone is using Bluetooth in cars. C | T (40) | # |
