I sent out a solicitation earlier in support of my Tour for Kids fundraising efforts. A lot of people responded with donations, well-wishes and “sounds like fun!” . The latter response kind of puzzled me. The ride was definitely going to be challenging, but fun? Possibly, but no one else was looking at the task at hand and saying it looked like fun. I was wondering what kind of cycling-nut enthusiasts I had tapped into until I re-read what I had sent around.
In just 7 days, I will be undertaking a cycling journey of over 850km (520+ miles) in support of the Cancer Camps for Children charity (http://www.tourforkids.com).
Oops. Not only did I victimize the recipients with bad english, but I also neglected to include one very small, but important, fact.
Here’s what I should have said;
On August 11th, I will be undertaking a four day cycling journey covering over 850km (520+ miles) in support of the Cancer Camps for Children charity (http://www.tourforkids.com).
Does it still sound like fun?
If you haven’t already made a donation, there’s still time. Click on either of the “Make a donation” [Paypal] or “Pledge Me” [Credit Card] links on the left hand side of this blog to help a kid with cancer enjoy their summer!
