
Instead, I made sure that I took a look around at my life and where I live it and tried to put things into the perspective that those that lost their lives in defense of our freedom made possible.
The standout was the supposed vet I head on talk radio railing against the publication of the nude Jessica Lynch photo's.
He said that he would burn down stores of any shopkeepers that stocked any magazine that printed those pictures.
Wasn't respectful of vets he said. Wanting to see those pictures was exactly the same as pissing on every headstone in Arlington he continued.
The irony obviously escaped him.
Intelligent thought was also just out of his reach, so I shouldn't have been surprised I guess.
Freedom comes in many forms, we should take greater care to recognize it to ensure that we don't lose it. I'm glad that I've got the opportunity to even consider how I value freedom. We could live easily live in a world where even that freedom wasn't possible. And I appreciate the sacrifices that have been made in order that I can come to that conclusion.
