Random Bytes

Went to the track this afternoon for the first time ever. When I was a kid, we used to go watch the local stock car races quite regularly, but I've never been to a horse race before.

Not all that exciting I might add. I'm sure I'm not the first to observe this, but I can't help but think that if it wasn't for the betting, that there would be no support for the sport. Somewhat supported by the fact there the further you got away from the betting windows, the fewer people that were around. Very few, if any, people were actually there to watch the races without betting on them.

Including us - Amanda and I went to see an old co-worker of ours. Mojah used to work in the consumer sales department of Internet Direct, Tucows former parent company (where I got my start...). Mojah is an amazing guy who always worried more about the welfare of his family than anything else. According to the stories he got us caught up on, this is still the case.

Mojah tours with a Canadian super-band that's never really broken stateside, but pumps out a wonderfully loud mix of straight-on blues and island reggae. Check them out if you are looking for something new - any of their albums are great. Unfortunately, tonights show was cut short because of a downpour so they were only able give us a sneek-peek of a few of their newer tracks. If the teasers are indicative of the strength of their upcoming album, its gonna be great.
