Steve Gillmor: "I
used the late great Gillmor Gang radio show to maintain momentum and
garner committments from many of these players to support
attention.xml..."
I didn't get attention until I talked to Steve face to face about it - first at
Gnomedex last year and then again at Bloggercon (III?). He spoke quite
passionately and to the point about why attention is important and why
it was worth supporting. Every time I heard him talk about attention on
the Gillmor Gang, I got the same vibe.
But now, we only get to read about attention. Steve's words, while
certainly capable of making him a living, don't seem to carry the same
"heat" as his verbal expositions on this important technology.
In reading Steve's latest piece on attention.xml, I can't help but
think that history will record that attention.xml died with the Gillmor
Gang. Steve can write about attention as much as he wants, but unless
people get to hear hum pounding it out first hand, I suspect that his
real message will get lost.
If there *is* a connection, I sincerely hope Steve's NDA and negotiations are worth it. I'd hate to see something like this die on the vine.
